This recording was generously provided by Cantelli’s biographer, Lawrence Lewis, who had obtained a cassette copy some years ago from which I was able to work. Althugh not the ideal source medium, the results are eminently musical and highly enjoyable.

I also endeavoured to preserve as much of the announcements and applause as was available in order to preserve the feeling of a live – and truly spectacular – event.
